'If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito'.-

The Dalai Lama

Are we only dependent on our leaders to ratify agreements to conserve the environment? NO! Although that would be perfect, we need to realize that we too have the POWER in our hands to make a difference. Yes, you and me. All we need to do is educate ourselves, take action and then sustain this action. It's pretty simple really. So, what do you do?

Here are some quick tips to get you going:

#1. Identify easy projects to begin with , so the task doesn't feel too overwhelming . For instance:

Canvas shopping bags can last a lifetime!

- Carry your own shopping bag and refuse plastic

- Refuse single use plastics like cups, straws, cutlery etc

- Watch your consumption of water ( those holi rain dances? NO!)

#2. Segregate your waste

#3 Find like minded people ( or convince some to join you!)

- It always helps to do things together with someone! There are hundreds of online and offline groups with people on the same journey.

#4: Get out there, be one with nature

Once you feel you've aced this and your grocer wouldn't even dream of giving you stuff in plastic, you can graduate to the more heavy duty stuff and tip toe towards a zero waste life! :)
